You’ve heard it many times.

The tune of ‘finding your niche’ (or whatever that means).

So much so that you may feel overwhelmed to the point of letting go of making your 1st dollar on the internet.

(Ps. Don’t give up already)

I get it.

I’ve been in your shoes (or heels). Cheesy, much?

Identifying exactly which audience you are targeting can take time and effort.

Also confusing can be not knowing how to differentiate yourself from your competitors.

In this post, I will guide you in developing a clear vision for identifying and reaching your target audience.

Let’s get started!

1. Identify what you’re passionate about

When you’re trying to figure out what you’re passionate about, it can be tricky.

But if you take the time to think about it, you can identify your passions.

Start slow and make a list of everything that interests you.

Think beyond your corporate job or,

Look back at your career goal when you were 8, or

Think about what you’re already doing in your life, or

What topics do you read about, or

What activities bring you joy?

Once you have your list, narrow it down to a few topics you can talk about for 30 mins.

2. Analyze your skills and experiences

When trying to figure out your niche, evaluating your skills and experiences is essential.

Think about what you have done in the past.

Consider any projects you have already completed, any job you have had, and any volunteer experiences.

Reflect on the things you are passionate about and the hobbies you have.

Reflecting on your past experiences can help you pinpoint the area you want to focus on in the future.

It is important, to be honest.

Also, it is necessary to be realistic (a humbling feeling) when evaluating your skills and experiences.

This will help ensure you find the best niche.

If you like to write, do you have a portfolio to show a potential client?

Do you think (let alone believe) that you can monetize this proof of work?

3. Follow your competition

Now get on the internet and research some industry influencers already doing what you aspire to do.

There’s nothing better than having someone to look up to while staying up-to-date on the latest news and developments.

You will have found your niche if you resonate with the creator’s content multiple times.

From there, you can start creating content tailored to your target audience and create a brand you feel proud of.

Oh, me?

My niche lies in ‘at-home freelancing’ and making money on the internet, which I have been pursuing since 2019.

I even create content around this to empower other potential freelancers to make their first $ on the internet.

In the end, finding your niche is not a one-size-fits-all process.

It requires patience, research, and a willingness to explore and experiment.

But I am sure you will get there.

Let me know if this post helped you find your niche.
